Discontinuation of the DigiZeitschriften Service
With “DigiZeitschriftenˮ, the University Library Basel has licensed a service that provides access to digitised journals. This service will be discontinued at the end of 2025.
The DigiZeitschriften association is receiving considerable support so that at least the freely available content in DigiZeitschriftenˮ can be preserved for use. In this regard, libraries in Germany are committed to individual subject segments of the existing service. Complementing this, a central, interdisciplinary service for freely accessible content from DigiZeitschriften is being developed at the Göttingen State and University Library (SUB Göttingen) with support from the association. “DigiZeitschriftenˮ will therefore become a service provided by the SUB in the future – although in a significantly modified form in terms of content. Activation is not expected until the second half of next year.
A large portion of the digitised content that has been freely available to date can still be accessed via various partner institutions of DigiZeitschriften in Germany. Amongst others via:
