Free Open Access Publishing of Journal Articles: More Publishers Available
New read&publish agreements enable free open access publishing in the scholarly journals issued by Cambridge UP, SAGE, and Taylor&Francis.
From 2021 the ongoing read&publish agreements enabling free open access publishing of articles in the scholarly journals by Elsevier, Karger, The Royal Society of Chemistry, and Springer are extended to Cambridge University Press, SAGE und Taylor&Francis.
Please note:
- The agreements with several publishers cover articles in hybrid open access journals only, but not articles in gold open access journals.
- A few journals are excluded from the arrangements.
- Some publishers limited the number of eligible articles. After exhaustion of the quota, the funding must be organized independently. Alternatively, authors may opt out paid open access via publisher and go for green open access instead (via edoc.unibas.ch).
- The publishers suggest the free open access option to eligible authors within their author platforms or by e-mail. They do not issue invoices to authors for eligible articles.
