New opening hours University Main Library
With the start of the autumn semester 2020, the University Main Library is responding to students’ requests and will adapt its opening hours as from 14 September 2020.
At the suggestion of students, the opening hours of the study areas and reading rooms will be extended during the examination periods in May and June as well as in December and January as follows:
- Sundays: The study areas and reading rooms will now be open on 15 to 16 Sundays during the year (previously 12). You can now also study for an additional hour on Sundays.
- Public holidays: The Sunday opening hours continue to apply, including on Ascension Day and Whit Monday.
- Monday to Friday: During the week the library will close at 22:00. The previous opening until 22:30 did not prove to be successful, as the study areas were not well utilised.
- Saturday: Saturday will be adjusted to the weekday opening hours (08:00 – 22:00) and the library will therefore be open four hours longer.
Outside of examination periods
- Evening: The work spaces are hardly used during the evenings. For this reason the library will close at 20:00 during the week.
- Saturday: On Saturdays, the opening hours will be changed to 12:00 to 20:00. The lending and information desks are open from 12:00 to 17:00.
