Wiley Read & Publish Agreement 2025 – 2027
A new national agreement between the Swiss higher-education consortium and Wiley is in force from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2027.
- Portfolio access: Continuous reading rights to the entire Wiley catalogue: ca.1 350 hybrid journals.
- No-fee Open Access publishing: Basel researchers can publish OA in all Wiley journals (hybrid + ca. 600 Gold-Open Access titles); annual article quotas cover expected demand.
- Central funding: Article-processing charges are now settled centrally by participating libraries, eliminating ad-hoc payments by authors.
- AI & text-mining rights: The contract permits extensive text- and data-mining with AI tools, provided licensed content is not reused to train commercial models.
Thanks to a flat-rate payment model that now bundles previously decentralised Gold-OA fees, the agreement lowers total expenditure by -10 % in 2025 (national level). Further Information
