SciFinder changeover to single sign-on (SSO) on 04.04.2024
On 04.04.2024 in the afternoon, access to SciFinder will be switched from specific CAS accounts to single sign-on via SWITCH edu-ID. Existing accounts will not be changed by the conversion, all settings will be retained. Existing users will be asked after the first login whether they would like to link their SWITCH edu-ID to their existing SciFinder account. The link is made via the Unibas e-mail address. As soon as the link is established, SciFinder can be used as before.
You can access SciFinder via the SciFinder portal using your SWITCH edu-ID, which must be linked to the University of Basel.
If you already have a SciFinder account, you will be asked when you first log in with your SWITCH edu-ID whether your account should be linked to your existing SciFinder account. The link is made via your Unibas e-mail address. Once your account is linked, you can access your SciFinder account as usual, including all your previous settings and search history.
If you do not yet have a SciFinder account, a new account will be created for you when you first log in.

However, you will be automatically redirected to the new SciFinder login when you access the SciFinder portal and log in after the changeover to SSO.

To create an account after 04.04.2024, use the SciFinder SSO Login and log in with your SWITCH edu-ID. A new account will then be created for you. Before 04.04.2024, use the information on our SciFinder website under "Access and account".
Access to SciFinder only works if your SWITCH edu-ID is linked to the University of Basel. You can find instructions on how to create the link here:
