This 15-minute coffee lecture covers key strategies for critically assessing scientific articles. We’ll discuss impact (e.g., citations, journal quality, relevance) and risk of bias (RoB) using tools like RoB 2 (randomized trials), ROBINS-I (non-randomized studies), and QUADAS-2 (diagnostic accuracy studies). We’ll also clarify PRISMA (for systematic review transparency) and GRADE (for evaluating evidence certainty).
